WJC Players to Watch: Drew Shore
I've been focusing a lot on '92-or-later players here, trying to point out sleepers and guys to watch for upcoming NHL drafts; however, I'm going to transition here to players who can break-out.
Drew Shore is a big forward (6'2", 200 lbs.) from the University of Denver who seems to have found his offensive game after a rather rough freshman season. Shore has 14 goals and 11 assists in 20 games for Denver and has been a force for them right out of the gate this season.
Being reunited with some of his buddies from the US-NTDP U17 and U18 squads, Shore should provide some excellent scoring depth for Team USA. After being a second round pick by Florida in the 2009 NHL draft, don't be surprised if this tournament really boosts his stock as a NHL prospect.
